I generally do not cover the news of the day, because it is best understood a decade or a century after events, but this time around, well, we have been on this path for some time, and we see where it is coming from and leading to.
The latest Pope has just excommunicated the Roman Catholic priesthood’s few remaining Christians.
The postChristian churches are all rapidly dying, while the Christian churches are rapidly growing.
If you attend a postChristian, postModern, church, there is no one left except those with one foot in the grave.
Pretty soon the Pope speaking exCathedra will be yet another letterhead owned by Harvard.
Which is going to force the remaining Christian priests of the Roman Catholic to adopt the protestant Catholic position, the high Anglican position, that anyone with valid Apostolic succession who is in a proper relationship with God can validly give someone else apostolic succession, analogous to early anarchic period of feudalism, when any knight, which is to say anyone with the right to keep and bear the weapons that were expensive and high tech in that day, could give someone else that right, though it was inappropriate and improper to do so without the advice and consent of other knights.
And, in related news, Hollywood just cast an angry plains ape as Helen of Troy, and displayed the ape looking and acting like an ape in their trailer. Obviously that is not going to entice viewers to go see the movie. It was intended as an insult and an attack on the west, western civilization, western civilization’s founding myths, and westerners. If they had intended to attract, rather than insult, viewers, they would have made the species swapped female look and act attractively. If they had intended to persuade people to not be racist against blacks, they would have made the species swapped female look and act human. Species swapped Helen of Troy in this trailer is going to make black men racist against black women.
And the Pope has been performing insults to Christians and Christianity and attacks against Christians and Christianity in the same way Hollywood, Gillette, Budweiser, and Jaguar have been performing insults and attacks against their customers. If you are Christian and Roman Catholic, the Pope pisses on you, if you drink Bud Light beer, Budweiser pisses on you, if you shave with a Gillette razor, Gillette pisses on you. And if you own a Jaguar — suddenly no one wants to own a Jaguar. New ones are not being sold, and the resale value on old ones has collapsed. Much like the Roman Catholic congregation.
Hollywood is dying because it hates its audience and continually attacks them, and the postChristian churches are dying because they hate their congregation and continually attack it.
We have just had a schism in Anglicanism over priestesses, Orthodoxy over Globohomo, and now we have a schism in Roman Catholicism over the latin Mass. The latin mass dispute is actually a lavender mafia versus straight celibates schism. The lavender mafia wants to take the sacredness out of the Church. The high fertility, high fidelity, non buggery, portions of the Church, are SSPX.
The papacy is happy to keep the low fertility part of the Church, because as churches, monasteries, and nunneries empty out, this allows them to sell off their real estate and snort coke off the bums of ladyboys.
The Vatican is exhibiting indecent haste in selling of its “underutilized” real estate, and recently sold off a nunnery that the nuns did not think was very underutilized at all, and if the sales of monasteries and Churches are less egregious, that might be where they are holding the parties with the cocaine and speed snuff, the nitro poppers, and the ladyboy whores. Which would explain their Hollywood like allergy to anything that has the air of sacredness and saintliness.

Which seems to say it is the congregation that makes the church, not the top bureaucracy. SSPX correctly points at the completely irregular ordination of Saint Ambrose as precedent.

On this, the protestants are obviously correct, and SSPX has no choice but to agree.

Leftist propaganda has always been present in the media, e.g. Look Who’s Coming to Dinner, All in the Family, Mash, even the original Star Trek, but until fairly recently it’s always been more subtle, and not getting in the way of the entertainment value of the product. These days my view of the modern aspects of globohomo is seeing them as made up of three interconnected segments, which appeared one after another: 1) the modern banker/monopolist strand; 2) the modern leftist progressive strand; 3) the modern “stagnificator” neo-nomenklatura strand which is an updated version of the Soviet one, which in turn is an updated version of the classical oriental bureaucracy.
The first one appeared in the 18th century, responsible for “the tragedy of the commons” and the “dark satanic mills”. Their game is to liquify any social or cultural structure that impedes the velocity of the flow of capital, goods, and workers. The second appeared as a reaction to the first (early 19th century onward: auguste comte, Marx, Lenin etc), and originally only wanted to liquify and erase the structures “holding back the proletariat”, but today are perhaps the most obsessive liquefiers of anything they can identify as a preexisting structure. The third ones are the “bureaucratic technocrats” (begun taking over for real after WWII) who believe that they are the word and the light and the truth and everyone else is a silly native who must do as he is told. Just like the first two strands, their agenda includes liquifying and erasing old structures and putting in place new ones which fit their agenda, but they mostly copy the ideas of the first two.
Of the three, the most “efficient ones” are the capital flow people, in the sense of being able to produce any value, at least in theory, when not cocooned into their own asses due to despising the customer if external conditions allow that . The leftists and the technocrats are efficient at taking over and dismantling stuff, and at various forms of treachery and plotting, but not at producing value in neither market not social terms.
These three have intermingled, infected each other, but it is mainly the leftist strand that provides the “sanctification” of the other two. The other two need the blessing of the left, and also amulets and symbols generated by the left, in order to pretend that they have the mandate of heaven. All three currently, very obviously, despise the host population, even when pretending to “serve” it — bureacrats, leftists, and hollywood/xbox included.
In return for their blessing, the leftists gradually dismantle the fabric of the other two by a million cuts, with the end results being loss of corporate and systemic memory, cutting of the knowledge-sharing mechanisms between generations (and even between the various clusters of the current generation), and in general raising the levels of entropy.
(All the secret and not so secret cabals are a different subcategory, of course. In a sense the leftists also constantly undermine the cabals too, since their plans also need actual stuff to work for outcomes to happen)
Xbox and Disney failing is, imo, due to them being overrun by entropy (oriental bureaucracies infested with leftists yet also attempting to serve the finance people), within an environment that no longer subsidizes failure the way it used to (new prez administration).
After the gutting of USAID and other similar processes, the fake reality that subsidized failure (via debt, theft, and printer go brrr) is at least for now kind of on hold, forcing actual reality to kick in at least for a while.
Lastly, due to all these changes after Trump’s second victory, and Musk’s global informational freedom coup, the blessing of the leftists is starting to lose status value, again at least for now.

There are no technocrats on the western left anymore zero none, like everything else the left evokes when they want to sound legitimate they wear the WWII technocrat left as a skinsuit when it suits their purposes. The technocratic left was an FDR project and they were actually capable of ruling competently because any system that creates an IQ hierarchy for ranks will probably do well long term if you can keep it. Similarly, the helmets in “Odysseus” just do not fit, and to the discerning eye are obviously inauthentic and fake. Another striking thing. Our video games are written by people who do not play, and do not like, video games, and our movies by people who do not watch movies. If you have an allergy against heroes, heroism, the heroic virtues, attractive women, beauty, femininity, masculinity, brotherhood, and fatherhood, kind of puts a damper on entertainment. The Supergirl movie follows the Supergirl comic faithfully, in every detail except for virtue, heroism, the heroic virtues, and the hero’s journey. In the comic, Supergirl starts out a messed up immature teenage drunk, is approached by sidekick girl, and immediately rises to the occasion by displaying the heroic virtues. She experiences character growth, sidekick girl experiences character growth, and the villain experiences character growth, recognizing the error of his ways, and how he caused far more harm than he intended or wished to cause. In the movie Supergirl remains an irritating irresponsible repugnant drunken teenager, and similarly for every other character. Since they are all irritating, unpleasant, worthless garbage people who learn nothing from the events of the story, we do not care what happens to any of them. If the characters do not learn anything, we are not going to learn anything, so we resume doomscrolling our phones.

I have friends and family who have allowed themselves to become dogmatically Catholic. They will likely support Pope Leo and point out some minor error the excommunicated made that justified the decision. From what I have read, they needed to ordain new, young bishops to survive even though Pope Leo withheld his approval. I wonder why Pope Leo withheld his approval.
This is a problem in my circle of based Christians who are attracted to Catholicism over its aesthetics. They perceive the Catholic Church as this bastion of righteousness and traditionalism. Catholic girls are pure-as-the-driven-snow, trad virgins who love to serve their husbands. The churches are traditionally beautiful in contrast to modernity’s ugliness. Protestant Churches use irreverent rock-concert styles of worship versus the Catholic Church’s traditional masses. Everything is out of the Chronicles of Narnia or the Lord of the Rings and is bright, perfect, traditional, and conservative.
The Catholic Church also enjoys an intellectual aesthetic thanks to writers such as GK Chesterton, JRR Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings), CS Lewis, and modern philosophers such as William Lane Craig. Craig has made great efforts to support the metaphysics of the Catholic Priest, Luis de Molina, in order to address the weaknesses of Calvinistic determinism. Again, Molina’s ideas on free will and middle knowledge defeating wayward, Calvinistic Protestantism creates this aesthetic impression that Catholicism has all of the answers in addition to being trad and based and trad.
The Catholic Church are the official good guys of the West and will save us all. And this is supposed to be obvious thanks to how beautiful Catholicism is aesthetically and intellectually.

As a traditionalist Catholic that goes to the SSPX Mass, the aesthetics of the buildings lasted until the late Sixties. His investigation of the actual conduct of monasteries and nunneries created a stench that remains to this day.
The Roman Catholic Counter Reformation decided to answer this powerful and devastating attack by enforcing virtue, and by building beautiful and magnificent Churches — a very good answer to a very powerful attack. They did not abolish all the heresies they had accumulated since the Great Schism, but buried them in the basement behind the water heater and quietly forgot about them.
Now, however, the Roman Catholic hierarchy is going full demoniac. Hence the intentional ugliness.

SSPX is walking a path that leads to High Gafcon Anglicanism — and, unlike Gafcon, whose power, numbers, and wealth is largely based in Nigeria, Uganda, and Kenya, SSPX is very very white. Also, however, very very small and poor compared to Gafcon.
It is hard to know how big SSPX is, and hard to know how big the white part of Gafcon is, but they seem somewhat comparable.

Protestants have the advantage that, when the leadership of their churches goes woke, they can found another Church (if they are Low Church) or some churches can withdraw their obedience to the woke Church (if they are High Church, like Gafcon). Good for them. All my sympathies.
As a Catholic, we are very hierarchical so we have to obey the Pope as long as this is possible (Catholic religion does not demand impossible things). Today, this is not possible, because obeying the last Popes means disobeying the previous Popes of two millennia. So everybody is trying to find out how to behave:
1) Of course, we have our modernist bunch. The ones that think that modernity is great and the sooner there is a transgender Pope, the better. They don’t believe the law of non-contradiction because they have a Hegelian spirit: most Popes were a bunch of retarded old farts, and the last two Popes are modern and cool. Why would you want the iPhone 3 if you have the iPhone 5?
2) BY FAR, the most popular option is true ignorance. Most people are not intellectual and they don’t read blogs. They think nothing unusual happens. They go to the sacraments, pray their prayers, etc.
3) The next most popular option is wilful ignorance: to look the other way and obey everything. It is the more comfortable one. This is what our woke leaders take for granted to convert our Church into a woke globalist group.
4) The next most popular option is to protest and do nothing. Wait for God to fix things. It is more comfortable this way.
(Many of the people in 3 and 4 know deep inside that they are following a bunch of wolves but they are too lazy to do something. This is why they hate the SSPX: it activates their cognitive dissonance. They are trying to fool themselves and they feel like sh*t when the example of the SSPX remembers them about that )
5) The fifth group is a minority. The people that do something: some are sedevacantist: they think that Popes after Council Vatican II are false Popes. These are very fringe. Some of them are benevacantist: they think Benedict XVI was the last true Pope.
The SSPX is the biggest group in the 5 option. It takes an agnostic position: they don’t say the last Popes are true Popes or false Popes. They think that the future will decide that. Meanwhile, following Catholic doctrine, they recognize the Pope and obey him except when the obedience goes against the salvation of souls (which means “they often disobey”, because Francis and Leo go agaist the salvation of souls every time).
I have to admit it: it is much easier to be a Protestant.
Once you take the step of deciding that the church leadership is corrupt and antichristian and therefore should not be obeyed you are whether you like to admit it or not already walking the path that Martin Luther walked a long time ago… the next step is logical if you are not blinded by fear that you will go to hell for casting off an institution that was founded in the 11th century when the bishop of Rome claimed to be a living prophet.
Obviously Papal authority is neither sufficient nor necessary for apostolic succession and/or to ordain a Bishop — that it is necessary and sufficient is quite recent doctrine.
The SSPX explicitly made this point, defending its recent ordinations of new Bishops, and digging up ancient history of highly irregular ordinations that history has shown to be valid. And as soon as you accept that apostolic succession does not run through Popes, you are on Luther’s path and are as protestant as high Catholic Anglicanism and high Catholic Episcopalianism — and no one doubts that those are protestant — or at least used to be protestant before the hierarchies went woke postChristian.
Recognizing the Pope and obeying him except when the obedience goes against the salvation of souls is suspiciously similar to not recognizing the Pope and not obeying him.
The only big difference between SSPX and the high Catholic faction of Gafcon is that SSPX ties itself into doublethink knots.
This reminds me of a custom among the Spanish conquistadors whenever the king issued an unworkable decree: upon receiving the royal edict, they would say, “It is acknowledged but not carried out.” In this way, they recognized royal authority yet disregarded the order (deeming it impractical for local realities) and simply went on with their lives.
That works as long as far flung provinces pretend to obey the King, and the King goes along with the pretense and pretends he is obeyed.
If, however, the King is disinclined to go along with the pretense of obedience, then pretending to obey does not do the subject much good.
The SSPX does not want to walk the path that Luther walked, but the Vatican has kicked them onto that path as it kicked Luther onto that path.
A lot depends on how the rest of the Catholic ecosystem reacts to this. Do the SSPX folks start a cascade into SSPX or do they leak members to other TLM groups that still remain in mainstream Catholicism. And does the pope double down on persecuting the rest of the TLM types?
What will happen with Roman Catholicism is what is happening with Roman Catholicism and is what has been happening with Christianity for nearly two centuries.
PostChristian churches will continue to double down on dumping Christianity, and fade away. Christian Churches will grow, but some of them will turn postChristian.
That’s because they stopped making them. As far as weed and stuff my thought is there should be an official patrician and plebian class and none of the nanny state rules should apply to the patricians. My general feeling is that if we have to encourage a drug of choice in society through propaganda and light handed legislation mostly we ought to make it be tobacco once again. The way this is supposed to work, and used to work up to the Victorian era, is that certain things are legal but low status, and not generally tolerated in polite company. Spending state resources to try to prevent feral niggers from using weed or fent or a hundred other drugs is a largely pointless, low ROI exercise because they are still going to be feral niggers even without their drug of choice and will probably just find some other drug, or worse, take out their aggression on the nearest white guy. Prostitution is similar. The current legal framework that blames johns for whoring is obviously ridiculous and demonically evil, but even a theoretically unfucked legal prohibition that puts the responsibility on women is hard to maintain, because women just don’t really respond to legal threats and legal consequences. Prostitution needs to be low status, it is a huge problem when high status (as we can all see today), but once you successfully establish whores as low status then going one step further and making it illegal provides small and rapidly diminishing return on investment. Possibly negative return because you get acts of petty rebellion from pimps and whores who view it as an unjust law and forget why it was supposed to be low status in the first place.
Laws in general don’t function very well as social prohibitions, because the high-functioning members of society don’t need them and the low-functioning members don’t respond rationally to them. That may sound like the typical libertarian pro-vice argument, but libertarians are anti-church and I am pro-church. I make the point that personal vices shouldn’t be policed by men with guns precisely because that is supposed to be the role of the state church, which has been so eroded in the west over the past few centuries. If a strong and healthy church declares some action to be immoral, then most reasonable people won’t do it, and the people who cannot be swayed by the church are often the same people who will not be deterred by legal threats.
It is a waste of capital, both economic and social, to try to extinguish vice by force; instead, that capital should be spent on developing the state religion, building great cathedrals, keeping it high status, holding periodic inquisitions and carefully weeding out holiness spirals, and extinguishing any organized opposition to the church, and then let the church handle questions of virtue and vice, leaving the police to handle violent crimes and genuine threats to public order. It is a far wiser investment.

Concerning “social engineering”, I am of course highly skeptical after a century of its modern version. The idea that in itself this thing is OK, as long as “good people” do “good things” with it, as opposed to baddies doing bad things, does not inspire me.

Maybe the realistic way is making an effort to bring back old school Western values such as freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, realistic rotation of elites who actually answer to free citizens, no taxation without representation etc., plus teaching kids how to identify and counteract brainwashing.
However. I can totally see a propaganda drive, based on truth and science, to get through to women along lines including:
1) how a mother that receives proper nourishment and care before and after birth is actually healthier and happier than childless women, including hormonal levels, immune system etc;
2) how any contraceptive except condoms screws up your hormonal system and brain and how big pharma hides this; (also antidepressants and everything else in this field)
3) how being in a stable long-term relationship is better for mental, emotional, and physical health, than whoring around;
4) how divorce is presented as some piffle, but is actually a traumatic, life-altering event for both spouses and the children, and should only be done as an emergency;
5) how importing immigrants creates a huge carbon footprint and makes big bad capitalists happy, whereas making your own kids is better for the environment and makes big bad capitalists unhappy;
And also general multi-audience stuff like “all native people deserve their own countries and culture, and this includes europeans”, and “societies and individuals are ecospheres which work by certain laws and if you break them bad shit happens”, and similar to how to people should stop blaming their parents for stuff after they reach a certain age beyond which anything they do is on them, the same goes for countries and nations, how beyond a certain number of years, it doesn’t matter who took over from whom, from now on we build on what we have and that’s it.
A propaganda effort in this general direction could IMO do wonders if done competently, and within the context of a level playing field of a marketplace of ideas, but the overall concept of social engineering makes me nervous and suspicious. Maybe it’s the term itself that I have a reaction to.
As far as drugs go my take is
Alcohol: Probably an advantage to the individual not to drink or to do so very rarely but banning it doesn’t work and has negative consequences as humans don’t socialize among strangers well without it.
Caffeine: Good for some people and generally okay occasionally (like you need to do extra work in a short time), horrible for others. Not for people who are generally emotionally unstable already.
Tobacco: Bad for physical health in long term, good for mental health. But rulers should be okay with it being bad for physical health because dramatically increasing average lifespan leads to large elderly populations which causes a lot of problems. Pro social in some settings. The anti smoking movement seems to have been yet another thing progressives did which caused problems. Vapes are not as pro social for reasons that i’ll just say going out to places at night was a lot better on average when you’re average young hot chick smoked and everyone with experience of that time whether they smoked or not knows it… also because people seem to constantly use vapes to keep their nicotine levels massively spiked all the time vaping doesn’t seem to be good for mental health either (now there were some people pre 1980s who smoked four packs a day and kept their nicotine levels similarly elevated as modern vape users but even then that was rare).
Weed: Has very different effects depending on the person but with most people it tends to make them lazier and stupider over time. Also insidious effects with the emotionally unstable/anxious types as they percieve themselves as feeling calmer but in fact it exacerbates their emotionally instabilities. Should be discouraged because generally in contrast to tobacco the mental effects on MOST people are entirely negative but there are genuine exceptions.
Cocaine: Seemingly its almost a joke that its highly illegal (mandatory federal sentences and all) because anecdotal evidence is that modern women ubitiquously love it and a very high % of them basically want to get it as often as possible… which is a problem. Short term effects are positive (if you don’t have an extreme bad cardiac reaction and die which does happen) but virtually every long term regular user with regular access ruins their life.
Meth/Crack: Evil soul stealing shit. You meet one user and you should never ever want to touch the stuff.
Heroin/Opiates: If you need to use a needle you’re a very very serious addict. But to go back further in time… Heroin addicts used to be morphine and laudnum addicts and morphine and laudnum addicts were considered somewhat functional people before the 1960s era… albeit people willing to do anything for a fix if they were short of it for any reason. Seems like a case of a street drug being made worse than what proceeded it.
Hallucinogens: Can be positive or negative based on how they are used, should not be used frequently and they should probably be studied better. I generally avoid hard drugs of any kind but I have used DMT 3 times (long time ago) it probably made me permanently less prone to worry… and worrying is a damn near useless emotion. I would never take acid though because it last 12-24 hours and “hell trips” are a thing. If I go to “hell” for 30 minutes ala DMT I’m sure I can recover mentally… whereas if I go for hours… my mind might be shattered forever.

Obviously, there are intrinsically bad behaviors (in the sense of disrupting public order) that do not magically become good when performed by good people. Murder, theft, sodomy, adultery, and so on, are all things that civilization simply cannot tolerate to any perceptible degree, and no amount of “consent” can make them acceptable. Thus, they are illegal.
Equally obviously, there are behaviors that are not intrinsically bad, but made bad through excess, either individual–typically due to some habit-forming property like alcohol or opiates–or collective, i.e. things you don’t want too many people doing at once, like prostitution. These all typically lack a clearly defined victim or perpetrator; we can easily see that they are creating misery when prevalent in society, but it is extraordinarily difficult to determine exactly what quantity makes the difference between collective immiseration and merely blowing off steam.
If a behavior is essentially harmless in moderation, then making it a low-status behavior will convince most higher quality citizens to be moderate or abstain altogether. It may not persuade the most impulsive, criminally-prone elements of society, but then neither will a legal prohibition.
Having unenforceable or weakly-enforced laws is damaging in and of itself; it undermines state authority and trust in the legal system. You don’t want that. If a behavior is undesirable at scale, but not so egregious as to justify a zero-tolerance policy, then the appropriate way to deal with it is through the state religion.
You can call it “social engineering” if you want, but that term exists because modern technocratic governments tried and failed to use Science ™ to emulate the results of church denunciation and proscription, which actually did work rather well when the church was alive and well.
I would add to The Cominator’s list the following: 1) modern club chicks love cocaine because it is a) “high class coded” unlike meth and crack, and b) it gives an adrenaline rush, a manic euphoric feel that amplifies experiences such as dancing or getting banged.
However, while all illegal stimulants are different in the sense of how and where they hit you, and how toxic is the specific batch you get at any point in time, all illegal *and* legal stimulants have their own shitty effects as a class, as a whole, and that is that they unlock, they hack your inner energy reserves. The ones placed into you in case you need to outrun a bear or pick up a car to save your kid.
The emergency supply that gets released all at once, depleting the rest of your body of energy (“redirecting all energy except basic life support to the front shields/engines/phasers, captain!”), because the important thing is to survive in the following seconds or minutes. Once you’ve survived, you in theory can later get that energy back. Using this trick simply to feel euphoric, or to “get shit done faster” is self-rape identical to poisoning the land in order to get one abnormally huge harvest after which the land is dead. If you get into a stimulant habit, or a stimulant-like habit (gooning for hours for example), this simply uses up all the life energy that should be going into powering your gums, your skin, your circulation, your brain function, your digestive tract, your immune system and so on.
You start looking like shit and acting schizo after a while because, zooming out, you’ve simply used up 20 years of life energy in two weeks, to put it primitively. Not even counting whatever more specific hits the hypothetical kidneys or liver or some such have taken. Hence why controlling one’s passions has always been the bedrock of any trad society since we have written history.
Doing strong stimulants on rare occasions in your life to achieve the impossible and save the day is one thing, doing them constantly as a “cheat code” only cheats yourself, literally a banal “devil’s bargain”. Energy debt toward yourself that you pay with your life essence, squandering your divine inheritance for cheap kicks and cheat codes for situations that don’t really require them.
Covfefe and sugar are weaker forms but the logic stands. They don’t *brutally rape* your adrenal glands and overall hormonal system so obviously, but they do tickle them with the dildo constantly and this also has its price down the line.
Cigarettes: the powers that be chose lung cancer as the boogeyman, and it’s bunk. If we compare country statistics of smoking rates and lung cancer rates, they don’t match. They just don’t. Cardiovascular disease and smoking rates do match. Maybe the movers and shakers thought this was boring and lung cancer is sexier for PR. Autoimmune shit from smoking is also a real thing in some cases. Also gradual degradation of lung function. So – the official scares about smoking trad cigarettes is b.s., but there is indeed a real price to pay. Every free citizen has the right to make an informed choice if they want the chill mental focus in exchange for gradual degradation of the basic lung function, cardiovascular risks, and immune system risks. The choice is not informed, because the official line in terms of risks is about completely different mumbo jumbo.
In my opinion, a generally healthy guy can smoke (not chain-smoke – smoke smoke) until middle age, but after that it’s best to change many elements of one’s self-husbandry habits, including quitting smoking and other things, which around this part of life start taking way more than they give. Quitting smoking is like quitting sugar or carbs or covfefe – a few days of feeling like shit and being a histrionic retard, and maybe a fake flu too, and then it’s fine, aside from the occasional craving. About 90 days later the body begins a new cycle for real, the lungs open up, the circulation bounces back etc.
And yes, trad smoking, unlike vaping, means strangers going to the same smoking places, giving each other a light, exchanging small talk or just polite nods/smiles. Much more social.
Hallucinogens: humanity has used those since forever, but not for “recreation”. These are super important rituals, which are recognized to have the potential to define your life moving forward, and people prepared for them for days or weeks before that, and followed specific instructions to get specific effects. Used well, a trip once every decade or two can help a lot to digest what has happened up to now and prepare for the next phase in life, but without total respect it can ruin you. Illegal chem psychedelics carry the same risks any illegal chem drugs carry. Some basic magic mushrooms from a vouched supplier may be the least risky proposition.
Weed: it is a “light hallucinogen” and does the same – temporarily liquifying your mental structures – to a lesser extent. Doing this as a rare and controlled “mental spa”, sort of like a massage for your psyche, just to soften things up and get the different personality elements that have gradually “dislocated” to take their proper places, can be in theory beneficial, but in practice most users just get sucked into the constant soft brain state every day all day long and suddenly 20 years have gone by.
And, of course, any softening of the mental structures, “weakly” by weed or for real by psychedelics, if done by the wrong person at the wrong time, has the potential to unleash very real mental breakdowns, all the way to schizophrenia and beyond. Again, like with everything else, there’s not real info being given, it’s just ideologically coded stuff about how either it’s super evil and will make you sodomize your neighbor’s dog and the next step is always heroin, or it’s super harmless and will heal your hemorrhoids and raise your ancestors from the dead.
