Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

This is an Obama program, still legal and operating right now, that gives illegal immigrants who are “children” de facto legal status – automatic permission to live and work in the United States, provided that they apply for it and register. In effect, retroactive magic soil citizenship, retroactive anchor babies.

Question: How young does your child have to be to be your retroactive anchor baby.

Answer: Your child had to be under sixteen when you arrived. If you illegally entered the USA with a child under sixteen, he can be your anchor baby.

People are telling Trump to let it stand, for if he stops it the press will go crazy with pictures of cherubic five year old orphans, and he will be discredited.

In Australia Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull had a big run in with the press on imprisoning and throwing out cute little babies who had arrived illegally, or were born in Australia to illegals, and who were suffering from sad photogenic illnesses that supposedly could only be treated in Australian hospitals. If Tony Abbot and Malcolm Turnbull can tough it out, Trump should breeze through it.

No other advanced country in the world gives citizenship on location of birth (Except Canada). Nearly every country very recently used to give young illegals, and children of illegals born on magic soil, the heave ho, and there was never anything controversial about it until very recently. Further, Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull got away with reversing the supposedly irreversible tide of history, and undid magic soil citizenship. The press thought it outrageous and extremely controversial, but it simply was not. In the end, no big deal. The dogs barked, and the caravan moved on.

On the face of it, giving illegals who have been in the US a long time citizenship is reasonable – if it was accompanied by measures to stop new illegals from arriving and deport recently arrived illegals. Which it never is. Wall and deportation has to come before amnesty.

  1. […] busy week over at Jim’s. He looks at Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Illegal arrivals that is. He sketches out a case for toleration […]

O/T: Jim, Heartiste’s most recent offering links to this YT that makes a very good case for Trump dogwhistling about fifth columns within the CIA in his speech to the faithful, and faithless, in Langley the other day. Seems to fit right in with your ideas on who needs Reichstag firing.

    • jim says:

      Ah, I missed that.

The CIA being used for a color revolution in the US are fifth columnists. The CIA being used to arm and fund Islamic State are fifth columnists. The CIA being used in the US empire to install governments in the American Empire that most Americans would not approve of are fifth columnists.

      “Get rid of the Columns.”

      Pauses.

      “You understand that?”

Looks at Pompeo. Looks back at audience.

      “Get rid of the columns.”

    • Alfred says:

I remember watching the first republican debate when Trump publicly called out Megyn Kelly and I thought ‘did he just do that?’ Now he does the same with the CIA. Too good.

      • Steel T Post says:

The speech actually wasn’t all that good, meandering all over the place, but then BAM! he outgroups the Fifth Columnists. Winning! The clever Horn Hairs in the front row were as baffled as the fellow at the Texaco station in No Country for Old Men when Anton Chigurh tells him to call it, friendo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLCL6OYbSTw

“What’s the most you ever lost on a coin toss?”

  3. Robert says:

Trump must not only end DACA, but more importantly must make it great to have the following opinion again “If you are here illegally, you will leave.” We will win by first speaking what we want, it will be hard for Trump to say “Make America White Again” but he must start to push back against civic nationalism, he must start to change the narrative from “anybody can be American” to “Americans are a specific people, with specific traditions and beliefs”.

“On the face of it, giving illegals who have been in the US a long time citizenship is reasonable ”

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND JIM?
    IT IS NOT REASONABLE!

IT IS NOT REASONABLE TO REWARD THOSE WHO BREAK THE LAW.

IT IS NOT REASONABLE TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO BREAK THE LAW.

THIRD WORLD IMMIGRATION IS NOT REASONABLE FOR ANY REASON.

THE LONGER ANY MEXICAN IS IN THIS COUNTRY THE MORE MEXICANS THEY CAN BREED WHO WILL BE ALLEGED TO BE CITIZENS.

DEPORTING ANY MEXICAN DISRUPTS THE SUPPORT SYSTEM OF OTHER MEXICANS AND MAY GET THEM TO LEAVE.

MEXICANS ARE A NET DRAG OF ABOUT 30K A YEAR ON OUR SYSTEM, RICHWINE FOUND THAT PERSISTED FOR FIVE GENERATIONS AND COUNTING.

    THEY VOTE DEMOCRAT.

THEY CONTRIBUTE TO THE DISSOLUTION OF OUR EUROPEAN CULTURE.

THIS WOULD BE THE THIRD AMNESTY, THIRD SWORN OATH TO THE PEOPLE THIS WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.

THEY KNEW FULL WELL THEY WERE BREAKING THE LAW, THAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DID NOT WANT THEM HERE.

    • Steel T Post says:

It’s simply a matter of “Adverse Possession” (Squatter’s Rights.)

So Jim’s correct, and we have to stop new squatters before considering any residency gained under adverse possession.

      • viking says:

He is correct we must have a way to keep them out before ejecting them,But we have a way that while not fool proof is temporarily adequate if exploited properly while the wall is built. They must be ejected before they breed, and so it may be true its smart to hold out the hope for the libtards while negotiating the other plans in a month or two when that is done they must be ejected along with their families. Trump promised ” they all gotta go even the children” He must keep his word or lose votes like mine.

      • peppermint says:

you know the reason adverse posession exists is that it’s impossible to prove what kind of understanding the owner may or may not have had with the squatter

        but illegals gotta go

        out

        out

        out

        • viking says:

Actually his legal theory is fairly good, but i dont think they would prevail. Open and notorious is one test, and against the owners will is another. The dreamers by registering essentially admitted they had no right, the unregistered are not open and notorious they are hidden. And while its true many aspects of our society winked at the situation the arms empowered to grant permission were clearly passing laws and and somewhat enforcing the boundaries, certainly the people as owners have been clear if ignored.

“On the face of it, giving illegals who have been in the US a long time citizenship is reasonable”

Like using IQ to determine decisions, this one seems like a bureaucrat eye view of society. Linking citizenship to time spent in the country, and not character, is typical.

  6. Hidden Author says:

In fact, rants about globalist decadence aside, birthright citizenship has become LESS common: http://cis.org/birthright-citizenship

    • jim says:

Yes, left is out on a limb on this one. The Australian experience revealed that there is no real support for it. If you give people permission to not care, they will not care – which is surprising. It seems that “think of the children” has been overused to the point of exhaustion.

      • Mycroft Jones says:

Or maybe there never was a point that people cared. Abortion and contraception, and often more overt forms of infanticide, are universal across time and space.

    • Contaminated NEET says:

Look at that: HA got through a whole post without using an exclamation mark. There may be hope for you yet!

You’re like SJW novelist J.K. Rowling on Twitter, nitpicking about critics’ grammar. Get a life…

  7. Sterling says:

I suspect that Trump will keep daca as a bargaining chip for a long time. The most important feature of reform will be everify and steep fees for businesses. In a way keeping the issue on the table helps trump, it keeps the attention on the dreamers while he hopefully puts real enforcement measures in place. Then once the wall is built, the criminals are sent back, there is real interior enforcement you can address daca. But, by that time it doesn’t matter because you have all the best pieces in place.

    • jim says:

Disagree. Easier to do everything at once as fast as possible, as their outrage is already dialed all the way to eleven.

      • Magus says:

Jims right. If they’re going to call you a Nazi no matter what, do everything you want. There’s zero downside.

        • peppermint says:

As Machiavelli said, need to do all the potentially unpopular things at once as soon as your power is secure.

The only potential downside I can think of is if there aren’t enough police to get rid of muds openly flaunting post-Obamnesty status, or if Trump for some reason doesn’t want the SJW guys to control the Democratic Party. But the SJWs successfully blamed Russia for losing the election and recently everyone running for party leader said they don’t think the primary was rigged.

        • vxxc2014 says:

Yes. And MAGA was real busy today. Full court press out the gate.

Lets give him a little time but DACA needs to go fast.

It is only Wed of the 1st week of course.

          • Sterling says:

Looks like he is going to let it sunset. The green cards under this program must be renewed every two years.

Trump is the “dog who smells a fight” in this prophetic 80’s ccm-fashwave song who will “meat the press.” Bon appétit. 🙂

      Meat the Press
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFPFTrzVIbE

      Lyrics:

      In a ninety-floor Manhattan address
lives a watchdog called the National Press
and around his collar’s written the line
“The Protector Of Our Hearts And Minds”

Hark! Hark! The dog will bark
      and we believe this hierarch
but read between the lines and see
this dog’s been barking up the wrong tree

      Meat The Press

When the ratings point the camera’s eye
They can state the facts while telling a lie
and then watchdog shows to the viewers at ten
he’s a bloodhound with a pad and pen
can’t pin the blame–he’s out of reach
just call the dog “His Royal Leech”
we held the rights for heaven’s sake
’til we gave this sucker an even break

      Meat The Press

When the godless chair the judgment seat
we can thank the godless media elite
they can silence those who fall from their grace
with a note that says “we haven’t the space”
      well lookee there–the dog’s asleep
whenever we march or say a peep
A Christian can’t get equal time
      Unless he’s a looney committing a crime
listen up if you’ve got ears
      I’m tired of condescending sneers
I’ve got a dog who smells a fight
and he still believes in wrong and right
