Gamergate and corruption

Gawker media’s primary audience is nerds.

Their primary income comes from advertisers, who pay them to show ads to nerds.

And this is what Gawker has to say about nerds.

Ultimately GamerGate is reaffirming what we’ve known to be true for decades: nerds should be constantly shamed and degraded into submission

Upon receiving a hostile reaction from their audience:

@hamiltonnolan @Based_Tet@max_read Max just told me I’m getting a raise because I made gamers cry

And, when the advertisers did not like that, that is nothing compared to what they said about advertisers.

Intel is run by craven idiots. It employs pusillanimous morons. It lacks integrity. It folded to misogynists and bigots who objected to a woman who had done nothing more than write a piece claiming a place in the world of video games. And even when confronted with its own thoughtlessness and irresponsibility, it could not properly right its wrongs.

And, did I mention that Gawker is anticapitalist?

It is apparent that many of the writers attacking gamergate do not have skin in the game with their own publications. They are willing to burn their boss’ companies and quite likely it will help their career. They’ll keep riling up the mob because they think it means greater notoriety and promotions later on. The longer that they keep riling up the mob, the worse terms that they will get for the companies that they work for, but they are fine with that.

To bypass the first amendment, the government has been systematically installing political commissars in every company. This has the unintended effect that nominally private companies tend to wind up controlled by the state sponsored left.

In any nominally private organization controlled by the left, people get power and promotions not for actions that benefit shareholders, but for actions that benefit the left.

If shareholders lose control, the logical behavior then is to max out every company credit card and company line of credit, pile up everything moveable and take it to the pawnbroker, rip the copper wiring out of the walls, and set fire to company headquarters to collect the insurance.

Hollywood has long been controlled by the left, and by and large, for the most part there are no longer continuing corporations, Hollywood studios, that own production assets, have valued brand names, and regularly produce one movie after another.  Rather, people usually get together case by case to produce a movie.

Surviving Hollywood corporations tend to be notoriously under attack for insufficient leftism, for example Disney, and often their movies contain subtle hints of less than total capitulation  But even they are tending to outsource their real production to off the radar contractors, while they stuff their nominal production departments with politicals, a process that ends in the company being eaten out by the politicals, and replaced by teams of contractors that come together contract by contract, project by project.

Tim Cook has not ripped the copper out the walls and set fire to Apple headquarters – not yet, but he has rather casually burned Apple’s major asset – that it was the high quality, high status brand name, that its stuff just worked.

The modern world was created by the joint stock corporation with the CEO kept answerable to the shareholders by double entry accounting.  When King Charles the Second let joint stock corporations off the leash they, in addition to pillaging the third world, used science to build technology, and the resulting technology enabled science, massively raising everyone’s standard of living, including that of third worlders and even of slaves shipped from the third world to the first.

Sarbanes Oxley has destroyed double entry accounting, and politicizing corporations has disempowered the shareholders.  In America and Europe, the social technology that brought us science and the industrial revolution is being dismantled.

The social technology that made the west wealthy and knowledgeable survives in Hong Kong and Singapore, and is spreading to China. It has been successfully transplanted to Dubai by their high IQ aristocracy (Some aristocracies eugenically breed themselves smart), and, surprisingly, is doing fine in Nigeria. (I conjecture that in Nigeria a hidden consortium of white and east asian capitalists bribe the government into doing the right thing, always a dangerous mode of existence since the government is always tempted to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.)

Despite official truth that GDP per head is rising, everyone can see the reality that it is falling.

Given the Nigerian Government’s unusually sane and effective anti-Ebola policies (they now have fewer cases than does the U.S.) I have a sneaking suspicion that you are right…

    • Red says:

I was both shocked and pleased at how well Nigeria handled Ebola and how ineffective the US was at forcing them to not quarantine people as they’d done in other West African nations.

      • jim says:

The final solution to the ebola problem is to exterminate fruit bats, something that would have happened already were it not for greenie do gooders.

Fruit bats are flying rats. Their primary food source is human grown fruit trees, and when they get sick with ebola they poop and bleed on these fruit trees and their fruit. Solution. Put traps and baits for flying rats on every human grown fruit tree.

Could you please expand on or link to further explanation of these two points?

    > To bypass the first amendment, the government has been systematically installing political commissars in every company.

    > Sarbanes Oxley has destroyed double entry accounting

Both left me scratching my head; I’m not too versed in what’s going on internally in corporate America. Thanks!

    • jim says:

In Britain, if you express a thoughtcrime, you go to jail. Cannot do that in the US, so, if express a thought crime, will be fired. Businesses, as part of their compliance with regulations against racism and sexism, must take measures against thoughtcrimes. The state cannot punish you for thoughtcrimes, but it can, and will, punish your employer.

Sarbannes Oxley was intended to save double entry accounting, not destroy it, but was written by idiots who had no understanding of business, accounting, and profits.

Game studios have long been notorious for turnover. It would seem incredibly hard to keep staff for longer than one game. This is one reason game series tend to decline, as less than 5% of those who worked on the first are going to be around for the second. Leftism is easily the best explanation of this I’ve seen; keeping staff isn’t actually hard at all.
EA’s problem as a design studio is then not that it is a Big Company but that it is an entryist company. Its bigness just happens makes it juicy entryist bait.

If gamergaters would pull their heads out of their asses, they would realize that the reason SJWs are so furiously targeting the indie scene is that indie games are inherently entryist resistant, being small and fulminating. These days any idiot can make a game, any idiot can make a game review blog. Gamergaters should consign the existing institutions to the trash rather than trying to ‘retake’ them, much as 4chan was trashed once it became trash. It simply isn’t necessary to repel invaders from cyberspace the way it’s necessary to repel invaders from physical space, because there’s next to infinite cyberspace and on the internet locality is negotiable.

Unfortunately, tribal instinct says otherwise, and I’ve yet to see any indication that non-aspergoids are capable of intentionally suppressing their instincts.

    • Sasha says:

I disagree with one thing you wrote: Creating SJW-free hugboxes where sane people can talk about sane things won’t accomplish much…and it already exists.

Networks like Gawker have so much momentum behind them…there is a real need to confront them directly and work to discredit them in the public eye.

Make no mistake: GamerGate is just one battle in the war to slow and turn back the domination of media that presents itself as politically neutral by psychotic, vicious, tribalistic leftists.

    • Sterling says:

In a way Gawker is in the same situation, which I think is why they are going after the advertisers that have pulled their adds. If Gawker goes bankrupt because it alienated all of its advertisers it is not a big deal because they can dissolve and reconstitute under a new business entity writing the exact same stuff that they are writing now. They will get their eyeballs back and find a way to kiss and make up with the advertisers. Related to a point that both Jim and Steve Sailer have brought up, that information technology has allowed business to be more like temporary coalitions of contractors than the monolithic corporations of the past, allowing them to get around disparate impact and affirmative action policies. But this new way of doing business can cut both ways.

Hamburger Helper tried, but couldn’t introduce very much faggotry into Mass Effect 3. Maybe next game.

People shift between game studios and other tech companies all the time. That’s just the way smart people work.

      • Alan J. Perrick says:

        Something about crap and lies.

      • Morgenstern says:

Maybe I’m just more sensitive to that sort of thing but there was quite a significant bit of faggotry in ME3. When you can’t have a conversation with a fellow crewman or old friend without ending up on a date that’s pretty far off the straight and narrow already. A significant amount of my enjoyment of the previous games was bonding with the rest of the Normandy crew but in ME3 that just wasn’t feasible.

Actually a bit of an eye-opener for me really. Obviously I’d seen how the left described masculine activities being ‘homoerotic’ and religious / ascetic men as ‘closet cases’ to discredit them but the specific attack on brotherhood had eluded me. I still haven’t read “Homo or Negro” (mainly because of the rather infantile title) but it sounds like the same premise: attacking the male friendship and fraternity / mannerbund by creating suspicion that one’s friends might be clandestine perverts.

        • Adolf the anti-White says:

The left seems to interpret everything as sexual. A White girls who supports negroes must miscegenate. A man who likes his friend must be a faggot. A girl who wants to be liberated from men, must either become a dyke, or heterosexual slut who has sex, but doesn’t depend on men for her food.

          • Alrenous says:

Nihilism results in being mesmerized by intense sensations, as there isn’t anything in the psyche that can push back. There’s a slot for purpose in the human brain, and it insists on being filled.

  10. Alan J. Perrick says:

Should the Chinese be worried about Singapore and Hong Kong’s low fertility rate?

    • jim says:

I think that is due to feminism, and the naturally low fertility of densely crowded cities full of tall buildings, rather than due to capitalism.

Observe that Dubai has maintained fertility at marginally above replacement, by the usual Islamic methods, despite a tall city, polygamy, and excessive female status (for example men stand up when a woman enters the room)

      • Alan J. Perrick says:

Dubai is a good example, yes. Thanks, “Jim.”

Don’t forget that China has seen a lot of Christian growth in their country in recent years, and has not been persecuting anywhere close to the days to the days of Chairman Mao. Perhaps they will make something of that and use it to get better fertility in their country.

U.S.S.R.’s fertility was cratering and Russia is struggling to get back. That makes me wonder if deliberately secular societies can make it…China may be in a good place or a bad place for this reason.

        • Adolf the Poorly-Named Children's Book Character says:

It’s the wrong kind of Christianity, though.

You want Orthodox, Traditional Catholics or High-Church Protestants. The Chinese Christians tend to be Low-Church Protestants.

          • Alan J. Perrick says:

The only reason low-church Protestantism has even lasted so long in the United States is because there is so much open land that people weren’t forced up against one another and so religious rituals weren’t formalised.

In China, there are over a billion people, and they live in cities. If the Church needs to become more formalised and high church there, then it will become that way. I’m not saying throwing a few Chinese language translations of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer at them would hurt…But then again we are getting off on your tangent “Adolph the anti-white,” rather than discussing the fertility rate problem that China would need to address should it develop markets like its neighbours in Singapore and Hong Kong.

          • Adolf the anti-White says:

            “Adolph the anti-white”

I like that name. Universally offensive
