What is a “pastoral” Pope?
A pastoral Pope is one who is “close to the people”. And by “the people” they do not mean the typical Roman Catholic who attends church, or who might be persuaded to attend church. And the Roman Catholic Church is dying for the same reason as the video games targeting the “Modern Audience” are dying. The “modern audience” did not work out for Hollywood and game companies — observe how totally “Snow White, the live action remake” bombed. And the Roman Catholic Church is bombing in the same way as “Snow White” bombed, for the same reason.
Not only is the “modern audience” tiny, but it does not play video games, watch movies, eat in restaurants, have sit down meals at home, visit parks, nor go to Church, because their IRL lives, families, and relationships are so severely dysfunctional. The progressive solution for this problem is to raise their self esteem and assure them that they loved and high status. And that is the central message of the Roman Catholic Church.
The “modern audience” is not suffering from lack of self esteem. Their self esteem is insanely high and utterly detached from reality. They feel they are entitled to a good life, and because their lives are metaphorically and literally shitty they want to commit deicide, cosmocide, and suicide.
