Darwin, the Constitution…it’s there, written down, anyone can read it…and nobody does. It barely matters at all.
Churches often talk the talk of reality but in practice the results are always left wing and crazy. They preach that divorce is bad but christian divorce rate about the same as everyone. The church makes no effort is made to understand why it’s accruing beyond blaming men for it. The only solutions about divorce from church people I’ve heard are left wing solutions: Counseling, endless courtship to be sure, treatment for so called addictions.
Patriarchal marriage works, or, as players call it, “long term relationship game”. Orthodox Jews and Mormons do OK because they socially enforce patriarchal marriage, but for the rest of us, to have a patriarchal marriage in today’s society, you need to be contemptuous of the law and social constraints, since patriarchal marriage is illegal and socially disgraceful. Christian churches used to socially enforce patriarchal marriage, now they pressure males to behave in ways that lose the respect of their wives.
Most Christian “churches” in this country do not qualify as “Churches” at all under the standards Protestant Reformers used.
In any given state in the Union (lol), there are usually only a couple dozen or less that DO qualify. Around the turn of the 20th century, there were far more, but the wheels were coming off even back then.
